X-FLOW's solar collector is made of a rugged but light-weight and flexible black co-polymer material. This UV-resistant material is resistant to freezing, corrosion and chemicals. It is also resistant to lime deposits. The collector´s unique x-channel system has one of the highest heat efficiencies (n0=80.7 %) and shortest heating times on the market. This is made possible by a large active absorption area, the dynamic water flow and the small volume of water.
Applying high pressure to the two layers of material forms channels for the water to flow through. They quickly provide a turbulent water flow and a higher heat transfer coefficient. The speed and direction of the water inside the absorber changes constantly. This allows for more efficient use of the sun’s energy than other designs, making heating faster. The material is corrosion-resistant and can withstand heat, cold and humidity.
